Mr. Parwani is a member of the FrontlineWATCH LLC. Hayatullah holds a distinguished nine-year tenure in the Afghan National Army. His extensive career includes various intelligence roles across Afghanistan to include the Afghan Directorate of Intelligence in the Jawzjan Province, and intelligence liaison at the Combined Situation Awareness Room at Bagram Air Force Base. Additionally, he served as a floor director for Camp Alpha’s Combined Situational Awareness Room in Kabul. His final position was intelligence director for Afghanistan’s Joint Special Operation Command where he led seven mobile targeting teams in the north, south, and western areas of Afghanistan.
Originally from Kabul City’s fourth district, Mr. Parwani holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Fanos Institute of Higher Education. After graduating from Afghanistan’s Young Officers Military Academy, he furthered his training at the Military School of Excellence at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. In 2013, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant with the Ministry of National Defense Intelligence Department.
Mr. Parwani is a member of the Afghanistan United Front in Virginia, and is currently working on a forthcoming book to chronicle the complex events leading to the fall of Afghanistan. Currently, Mr. Parwani lives in South Carolina with his wife and two children.
